RECIPE FOR A "HAPPY NEW YEAR"

RECIPE FOR A HAPPY NEW YEAR
Take twelve whole months.
Clean them thoroughly of all bitterness,

hate, and jealousy.
Make them just as fresh and clean as possible.
Now cut each month into twenty-eight, thirty, or thirty-one different pa
rts,
but don't make up the whole batch at once.
Prepare it one day at a time out of these ingredients.

Mix well into each day one part of faith,
one part of patience, one part of courage,

and one part of work.
Add to each day one part of hope,
faithfulness, generosity, and kindness.
Blend with one part prayer, one part meditation,
and one good deed.
Season the whole with a dash of good spirits,
a sprinkle of fun, a pinch of play,
and a cupful of good humor.
Pour all of this into a vessel of love.
Cook thoroughly over radiant joy,
garnish with a smile,
and serve with quietness, unselfishness,
and cheerfulness.
You're bound to have a happy new year

26th December -the day of TSUNAMI

How will we forget the day...which caused so-much disaster.
People across Asia paused today to observe the fifth anniversary of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in 2004 that killed up to 230,000 people in about a dozen countries.

The devastating December 26 tsunami destroyed entire coastal communities, decimated families and crashed over tourist-filled beaches, sweeping away everyone and everything in its path.

The earthquake was caused by subduction and triggered a series of devastating ttsunamis along the coasts of most landmasses bordering the Indian Ocean, killing nearly 230,000 people in eleven countries, and inundating coastal communities with waves up to 30 meters (100 feet) high. It was one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history. Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand were the hardest hit.

The tsunami was triggered by an undersea earthquake with a magnitude of 9.0 that struck off the coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Over the next seven hours, a wall of water reached across the Indian Ocean, devastating coastal areas as far away as East Africa.

With a magnitude of between 9.1 and 9.3, it is the second largest earthquake ever recorded on a seismograph. This earthquake had the longest duration of faulting ever observed, between 8.3 and 10 minutes. It caused the entire planet to vibrate as much as 1 cm (0.4 inches)[5] and triggered other earthquakes as far away as Alaska.[6]

The lack of food, clean water and medical treatment extended the list of casualties.

Long-term environmental damage was severe as well, with villages, tourist resorts, farmland and fishing grounds demolished or inundated with debris, bodies and plant-killing salt water

Me and my YOGA

The bond between Yoga and me started ,since I started learning how to walk (yeah....really!!!!). In that early age only my Dad introduced it to me. I used to enjoy the various poses of Yoga in those days of my childhood.:)
My interest on Yoga increased with my growing age.
It became my habit rather routine. It became my part of life.

When ever I miss Yoga even for one day, it feels like I missed something that day. When ever I'm tensed or feel like any depression it always helped to come out with that .It always helped me to control my anger which can impact the people around me.

SURYA NAMASKARAS(SUN SALUTATIONS)

Especially doing Surya Namaskars (Sun salutations), it always helped me to improve my concentration. And to be fit always , every one should try Yoga, in this daily life which is filled with so many tensions ,Yoga can give tremendous results.

Looking at the benefits of Yoga:
  • Improves strength, flexibility and balance
  • Improves concentration and memory
  • Helps with mild depression and anxiety
  • reduces high blood pressure
  • Improves sleep
  • Brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind
  • Improves digestion
It will be great pleasure for me ,even one person starts doing yoga , after reading my post :)

SHORTEST DAY of the YEAR

EARTH TILT(Winter-solstice)

Today i.e 21st of Dec ,is the shortest day of the year in Northern Hemisphere.
It is a day when the Earth's axis tilts the farthest from the Sun and is called winter solstice.

A solstice is an astronomical event which happens twice each year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is most inclined toward or away from the Sun, causing the Sun's apparent position in the sky to reach its northernmost or southernmost extreme, On the day of winter solstice, North Pole points directly away from the Sun and South Pole points directly towards the Sun, the Sun shines at lowest heights in Northern skies and at maximum heights in Southern skies.

This results in the shortest day in the Northern Hemisphere, but at the same time it's the longest day in Southern Hemisphere.

Winter solstice indicates peak of the cold season. After this, the length of the day starts increasing and it reaches a point where day and night become equal in length at Vernal or Spring Equinox. The day continues to grow longer till summer solstice, the longest day,

thanks "2009"

A year going to say bye bye....
all welcomes the new year ,forgetting about the old year which has given so many experiences ...

here are some words for the passing year
:

A year which has made us grow one year older :)
that was so much fun-filled louder
that sometimes made us sadder

A year which has showed all its phases
that filled some one's life with fragrance of roses
and given someone thorns of roses

A year in which someone started life
and some one reached end of their of life
but it was all game of life

A year which was beautiful as a garden with full of flowers
it was like drops of first showers
like chilled nights at the the winters

that wonderful year is passing
with hope of dreaming
a new year coming

Dreaming Tree

Standing here
The old man said to me,
"Long before these crowded streets
Here stood my dreaming tree."
Below it he would sit
For hours at a time
Now progress takes away
What forever took to find
And now he's falling hard
He feels the falling dark
How he longs to be
Beneath his dreaming tree

Conquered fear to climb
A moment froze in time
When the girl who first he kissed
Promised him she'd be his
Remembered mother's words
There beneath the tree
"No matter what the world
You'll always be my baby."
"Mommy come quick,
The dreaming tree has died."
The air is growing thick
A fear he cannot hide
The dreaming tree has died

Oh, have you no pity?
This thing I do
I do not deny it
All through this smile
As crooked as danger
I do not deny
I know in my mind
I would leave you now
If I had the strength to
I would leave you up
To your own devices
Will you not talk?
Can you take pity?
I don't ask much
But won't you speak, please?

From the start
She knew she had it made
Easy up 'til then
For sure she'd make the grade
Adorers came in hordes
To lay down in her wake
Gave it all she had
But treasures slowly fade
Now she's falling hard
Feels the fall of dark
How did this fall apart?
She drinks to fill it up
A smile of sweetest flowers
Wilted so and soured
Black tears stain the cheeks
That once were so admired
She thinks when she was small
There on her father's knee
How he had promised her,
"You'll always be my baby."
"Daddy come quick,
The dreaming tree has died
I can't find my way home
There is no place to hide
The dreaming tree has died."

Oh, if I had the strength to
I would leave you up
To your own devices
Will you not talk?
Can you take pity?
I don't ask much
But won't you speak, please?

Take me back, take me back, take me back...

Save me please.

be clever while offering advice

yesterday while reading "THE HINDU" I found some interesting article about offering advice to anyone.I thought of sharing this with all of you.

When people offer advice on their own ,we tend to get annoyed.I suppose we all have this complicated attitude towards advice. That's not because of the advice itself..but because by giving me such advice , that person has suggested that they did not think I knew what I was doing, and they thought that I might not do a good job without the advice.

I'm sure we have all reacted similarly to advice at some point or the other.Since giving can be a such a complicated affair, we happen to have many clever methods of offering advice.

To simply say 'do this' , is offensive , and puts people off. So even though that is in fact what we want to say, we tend to offer advice disguised as polite suggestions.

Instead of saying 'you should do this' , or anything even close to that, we only can say 'I would do this' . Let me explain with an example. Instead of speaking to me directly and telling me to make the work done ,my friend could instead say,' if I was doing this ,I'd make like this way to make it done very easily'. It simply looks as if my friend is expressing her own views on how to do that work.Nothing to do with me and my work.

Since we all must offer advice ,the effort here is to make it sound as little like advice as we possibly can. So expressing your advice as an independent idea that supposedly has nothing to do with the person you are offering advice really works out

The 'I'd do this', formula is extremely handy for issuing warnings too. For example ,if you are at the library and some of your friends suddenly start talking loudly to you , you could warn them by saying "I'd keep quite if I were you"

This way of offering advice is slightly less intrusive than simply telling people what to do, but it's still good to remember that offering advice when people have not asked for it can be annoying regardless of how carefully you offer it.

Question your self.....

time never waits for anyone.......in thought of coming tomorrow don't waste today.
try to live the life,..every moment...cheerfully ,happily...:)

how many days back you laughed whole heartedly...like a small baby..

as a baby we never think of tomorrow....but when we grow up..we always think for tomorrow..leaving behind today.

what happened to us...in the name of building our future,, are we loosing our present??.

in this "HI" "HELLO" friendships how many of us have real true friends.... ?
just question yourself.....

in this hurry-burry speed life what you are loosing...the family??..the relations?? the society ??.....or the life itself?? just question your self...

you are working hard for money...by that you buy what ever you want....but can you buy some smile for your family?? can you buy some happiness?? just question yourself..

Purusharthas...the objectives of LIFE...

Purusharthas, Dharma, Artha, Karma and Moksha

Purusha means human being and artha means object or objective. Purusharthas means objectives of man. According to Hindu way of life, a man should strive to achieve four chief objectives (Purusharthas) in his life. They are:

1. dharma (righteousness),

2. artha (material wealth),

3. kama (desire) and

4. moksha (salvation).

Every individual in a society is expected to achieve these four objectives and seek fulfillment in his life before departing from here. The concept of Purusharthas clearly establishes the fact that Hinduism does not advocate a life of self negation and hardship, but a life of balance, achievement and fulfillment.

flower and human................

Life Is A Flower
It Starts As A Bud
And Then Grows
And After Awhile It Blooms

Soon After It Blooms
It Slowly Wilts And Dies
While It Blooms It Reproduces
And Makes More Flowers

Humans Live Likewise
Some Are Bigger Than Others
Some Live Longer Than Others
Some Are Prettier Than Others

But One Thing
That Differs Humans From Flowers
Is That We
Live Our Lives
